Cadet Staff Sgt. Dillon Hand and Cadet Technical Sgt. Benjamin Koshnick received their patches from Commander John Yingling and are now qualified to be part of the Warsaw's Squadron Search and Rescue ground team.
To accomplish this, they had to complete training that included, but not limited to, how to prevent and treat hot and cold weather injuries, identify hazards, use a compass, what to do if lost, basic first aid, learn to use a radio for communications, find a distress beacon using directional finding equipment, work as part of a search line, identify missing person search clues, mark a route, use a signal mirror and be a member of two separate search missions.
Cadets also learn about the Bernoulli principle during their aerospace education training time from local science teacher Mark McCollom.[[In-content Ad]]
