Dan Hampton is seeking re-election as Kosciusko County prosecuting attorney.
The primary is in May, and the election is in November.
Hampton, a Republican, is a graduate of Warsaw Community schools, Ball State University and Cooley Law School. He has more than 25 years of criminal law experience serving as both prosecutor and defense attorney.
Prior to serving as prosecuting attorney, Hampton served as Kosciusko County chief deputy prosecutor under Prosecutor Steve Hearn for eight years.
As a prosecutor, Hampton said he has endeavored to serve the citizens in his community justly, earnestly and with integrity.
He said while serving he has improved efficiency within the prosecutor’s office through the acquisition and utilization of technology, resulting in improved case investigations and increased officer safety.
“The criminal justice system is dynamic, responding to the legislature, courts and needs of society,” Hampton said. “I pledge to always work to ensure that the prosecutor’s office is prepared to address these changing needs so that justice prevails and community safety is preserved.”
Beyond his legal practice, Hampton has and continues to serve his community through involvement and membership in several organizations, advisory boards, public offices and his church.
Hampton is currently a Republican precinct committee person and a past Warsaw city councilman. Hampton with his wife and children reside in Warsaw and attend Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
If re-elected as prosecuting attorney of Kosciusko County, Hampton said he will combine his knowledge and experience with his sense of compassion for and dedication to the citizens of Kosciusko County to achieve justice for victims and greater security for the community.[[In-content Ad]]
