David and Delilla Hackworth, Akron, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sherri Hackworth, to Justin Whitaker. He is the son of John and Debbie Whitaker, Akron.

The bride-to-be graduated from North Miami High School in 2009 and studied cosmetology at Heartland Career Center, Wabash, graduating in 2009.

The groom-elect graduated from Tippecanoe Valley High School in 2007 and will earn a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from IPFW, Fort Wayne, in 2011.
