Gretchen Watkins Manthey Bumbaugh, 82, Winona Lake, passed away at 5:10 a.m. Aug. 6, 2015, at Grace Village Assisted Living Community.
She was born Dec. 2, 1932, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., to Henry W. and Lenora M. Schreiber Seiffert. On June 10, 1950, she married Donald L. Watkins, who preceded her in death Jan 11. 1981. On Jan. 8, 1983, she married Wayne A. Manthey, who preceded her in death Mach 14, 1993. On Nov. 25, 1994, she married John Bumbaugh, who preceded her in death March 15, 2009.
She lived most of her life in Leesburg and Warsaw. She was a bookkeeper and receptionist for Armstrong Products and Ameri-Kan, retiring in 1989. She was a former member of Leesburg United Methodist Church. She was also an avid reader who loved working crossword puzzles. Most of all she loved her family.
Survivors are, three sons: Steven (and spouse Donna) Watkins, Mancos, Colo.; Stuart (and spouse Julie) Watkins, Claypool; Sterling (and spouse Sarah) Watkins, Warsaw; three stepsons, Jon (and spouse Carolyn), Alan and Dan (and spouse Sally) Bumbaugh; two stepdaughters, Karen (and spouse Dan) Hansen and Brenda Brown; one brother, Eric (and spouse Judy) Seiffert, Warsaw; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Seiffert who died Nov. 14, 1990; and two sisters, Dorothy Hodges, who died Dec. 14, 1981, and Ardis White-Wisehart, who died Dec. 17, 2000.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw, with Pastor Mike Settles of Claypool United Methodist officiating. Burial is in Leesburg Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
