ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. – Grace Tanaka Inai, 90, Arroyo Grande, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus in the afternoon of Oct. 1, 2014, at her residence after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She born Sept. 15, 1924, in Arroyo Grande, to Seitaro and Tadano Tanaka. She was married to Walter Inai, who preceded her in death.
She was the youngest of seven children. She was, first and foremost, a servant to her family, friends and those around her. Always quiet, she was very observant, and when she saw a need, she would fill it. She was a terrific cook, seamstress, artist and encourager in addition to being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are three daughters: Dawn (and spouse Rick) Russ, Sunny Charlton and Tertia (and spouse Keith) Bartow; six grandchildren: Nikki, Kevin, Carolyn and Katherine Russ; Kim Miller; Jen (and spouse Bret) Rodman; three step-great-grandchildren: Ashley, Reagan and Samantha Carlstrom; two sisters, Tommie and Katherine; and a brother, Frank (and spouse Frances); and a number of nieces, nephews and their families. She also was preceded in death by three sisters: Aiko Utsunomiya, Eiko Fukunaga and Mary Tsuchiya; a grandson, Ian Ramsey; and her nephew, Seiji Utsunomiya.
Graveside services were Oct. 11 at the Arroyo Grande Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to Marshall-Spoo Sunset Funeral Chapel, Grover Beach, Calif.[[In-content Ad]]
