GOP's Blame Game

Is there anything that the GOP in Washington won't blame on President Obama? First they try to blame him for the industrial disaster in the gulf, an accident that was caused by negligence of the operating company. Now they are blaming him for the failed terrorist attack in New York City and the almost escape of the terrorists. At this point I believe they will blame him for anything they feel can allow them to score political points. I'm expecting Glenn Beck to do one of his chalk board diagrams proving how President Obama was behind the Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy assassinations as well has the Hindenburg disaster. Oh the humanity.

I would like to give major kudos to the NYPD, whose quick action may have prevented a huge disaster and whose daily vigilance against terror in the number one target on the terrorist hit list. A fact that should make one wonder why years ago money was cut from the New York City Homeland security budget but there was enough money to protect a roller rink in Fort Wayne. I hope none of my family and friends, some who are in the NYPD, are harmed due to such irresponsible distribution of funds.

I will also give kudos to Glenn Beck who, unlike born-again conservative John "I will say anything to get re-elected" McCain, defended the Obama administration's reading the suspected terrorist his Miranda rights. Regardless of how he looked, the terror suspect is an American citizen. Hey, even Glenn Beck gets one right every once in a while. But once again the so-called party of law and order, the GOP, would like to deny an American citizen their Miranda rights. It's troubling how quickly the GOP, who is always talking about defending the constitution, is so willing to disregard it when it's convenient. But that's not the worse part.

The GOP in Washington wants us to believe that a failed terrorist attack is worse than a successful one. This new outcry from the GOP is amazing considering the silence that followed the suicide attack on the IRS building. The GOP also wants us to believe that the failed escape attempt by the Times Square suspect is worse than the actual escape of Osama Bin Laden in Tora Bora. Have we fallen through the rabbit hole?

The GOP's constant irrational attacks on President Obama and blaming him for anything that goes wrong has made the GOP in Washington a fringe political party with no credibility on any economic, social, or diplomatic issue. On every important issue that faces our nation the GOP has come up with no new ideas, just anger fueled rhetoric that prevents a civil debate on any issue. In fact they won't even let debates occur in a place built for debates, the U.S. Congress. Perhaps when the GOP finally steps back from the irrational rhetoric and realizes the harm they are doing then maybe we can move forward as a nation and tackle those pressing issues. But don't hold your breath.
