A golf outing hosted by the Warsaw 802 Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks raised money for the Jimmy Baker Memorial Diabetes Fund, held at the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. The fund will provide needy individuals with assistance for their treatment of diabetes.

The fund was established by the Elks in memory of long-time member Jimmy Baker. Baker was voted Exalted Ruler of the Elks three times. He was also chairman of the Elks Thanksgiving Community Dinner.

"Jimmy was very community minded," said Roger Hughes, Exalted Ruler of the Warsaw Elks. "He wanted to give back to the community. So, in some way, with this endowment, we'll be able to give back in Jimmy's name."

The golf fundraiser took place at Rozella Ford Golf Course and a meal followed at Elk's Lodge 802. Members of the winning team included Mike Davis, Jerry Hattfield, Tom Beno and Andy Beno.

Since 1968, Kosciusko County Community Foundation Inc. has brought caring people and charitable endeavors together for the good of the community. The Community Foundation is a public charity, and gifts made to the foundation are tax-deductible.
