She was born Sept. 15, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Raymond and Laura Priebe Thompson. On Oct. 23, 2004, she married Jack Cummins, who survives.
She was a graduate of Abbottsford High School, Abbottsford, Wis. She had been a social service worker in Superior, Wis., and Pell City, Ala. She was raised in the Lutheran Church and attended the Inwood United Methodist Church.
Also surviving are three children: Jennifer Viets and Laura (and spouse John) Strell, all of Chicago, Ill.; Jeffrey Viets, Birmingham, Ala.; six grandchildren; her stepchildren: Jack and Vicki Cummins, Rochester; Richard and Becky Cummins, Freemont, Calif.; Kathy and Steve Williams, La Porte; Vicky Barham, Bourbon; Gary and Terri Cummins, Hayward, Calif.; Melanie and Jeff Rohrer, Burket; 20 step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of life will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St., Bourbon.
