Glenn W. Messmore, 90, of North Webster, passed away at 6:50 a.m. May 5, 2011, in Hubbard Hill Estates, Elkhart.
He was born Dec. 10, 1920, in Wabash County, to George and Ethel Besse Messmore. On May 16, 1970, he married Eva Dawson, who died July 26, 2009.
He was a 1938 graduate of Claypool High School and a former resident of Kosciusko County. During his lifetime, he owned pastry shops in St. Joseph, Mich., and Washington, Ind. In 2007, he retired as a real estate broker from John’s Realty, Ligonier. He enjoyed sports, reading, fishing and gardening.
Surviving are three daughters, Carolyn (and spouse Wilber) Berry, Jan Hamman, Judy Cantwell, all of South Bend; a son, Dennis (and the late Carla) Messmore, Warsaw; two stepdaughters, Cheryl (and spouse Bill) Perkette, Indian River, Mich., and Paula (and spouse Gary) Powers, Glendale, Ariz.; six grandchildren; nine grandchildren; a sister, Marie Trump, Pierceton; a brother, Gene Messmore, Warsaw; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Doris Williamson; four brothers, Robert, Gerald, Earl and Wayne Messmore; two sons-in-law, Robert Hamman and Todd Cantwell; and a daughter-in-law, Carla Messmore. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
Calling is one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
