BOURBON - Glenice Balsley, 80, of Plymouth, and formerly of Bourbon, died Feb. 6, 2010, in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Plymouth.

She was born Sept. 20, 1929, in Bremen, to Brightsel and Wilma Hepler Carothers. On Aug. 15, 1974, she married Leonard Balsley, who survives.

She was a graduate of Bremen High School. She was a restaurant owner in Etna Green, worked at the Tippecanoe Foundry and most recently retired as a bus driver for Triton School Corp. She was active in the Marshall County 4-H program as a 4-H leader and participated in dairy livestock and canned food products and worked with the Cub Scouts.

Also surviving are four sons: Terry (and spouse Barbara) Heckaman, Lansing, Mich.; Rex (and spouse Lee Ann) Heckaman, Nappanee; Kim (and spouse Jane) Heckaman, Plymouth; and Marty (and spouse Denise) Heckaman, Etna Green; a stepson, Tony (and spouse Kim) Balsley, Tippecanoe; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Eudora Marburger, San Antonio, Texas; and a brother Garland (and spouse Muriel) Carothers, Bremen. She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter .

No services or calling are planned.
