GOSHEN - Glen Gerald Shuder 83, of 311 Sunset Blvd., Goshen, died from pancreatic cancer at 3:20 p.m. Sept. 15, 2009, in his residence.

He was born Nov. 22, 1925, in Milford, to Cleveland and Rosa V. Zimmerman Shuder. On Feb. 3, 1952, in Goshen, he married Marjorie Elizabeth Beck, who died July 20, 2001.

He grew up on a farm in Milford and worked at CS Meyers Ford in 1951; Goshen Farm Supply in 1952; Eby Ford from 1952-67; and Whitehall Laboratories from 1967-91. He retired in Nov. 1991. He graduated from Milford High School in 1944, where he was a member of the band and the basketball team. He was in the US Army during World War II, serving with the 1st Calvary Division in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of Plymouth United Church of Christ, Goshen, and Goshen Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 985. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, watching I.U. basketball and Notre Dame football.

Surviving are two sons, Gary L. Shuder, Mishawaka, and Bradley J. (and spouse Jennifer) Shuder DDS, Indianapolis; four grandchildren: Nicole C., Kristin L., Samuel G. and Adam J. Shuder; a step-granddaughter, Kaylee M. Carter; a sister, Mary Jane (and spouse Richard) Rowe, Logansport; and a companion, Joyce LeBold, Goshen. He was preceded in death by a good friend, Sue Whitehead.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen, with the Rev. John von Lackum officiating. Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.

Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
