NORTH MANCHESTER - Gladys V. Kennedy, 87, of Grace Village Retirement Community, Winona Lake, died at 9:40 a.m. Dec. 29, 2008, in Grace Village Healthcare Center, Winona Lake.

She was born Feb. 20, 1921, in Conneaut, Ohio, to Henry and Hazel Winan Parris. On Dec. 31, 1941, she married Myrl Thomas "Tom" Kennedy, who died Jan. 10, 1991.

She worked at Chamberlain Products, South Whitley, and later at Carson-Perie-Scott Department Store, Michigan City. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son, Raymond "Budd" (and spouse Gale) Kennedy, Satsuma, Fla.; a daughter, Marie (and spouse Bob) Quick, North Manchester; a sister, Florence Hicks, Puyallup, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, a brother, three sisters and a grandson.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Village Retirement Community Chapel, Winona Lake, with Pastor Glenn Byers officiating, and at 11 a.m. Saturday at East Conneaut United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Kelloggsville Cemetery, Conneaut.

No calling is planned.
