Get Together

Today, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., about 50 of us plan to meet at a Mishawaka Church (New Life Christian, Fir and Day roads) for an "R-3 Summit" to pray. The R-3 stands for "Restoration, Renewal and Revival." Anyone and everyone is invited, says the Pastor, Wm. McPhail.
A year ago we met in Seth, W.Va., near the recent mining disaster site of last week. That one was for three days. We all sense that now is a crucial and needy hour in national and world history.
No matter what our political preference, one thing is sure: We need the help, wisdom, leading and great mercy of God. To keep us all from being stuck with skyrocketing prices and escalating evil. If we "go broke" financially and spiritually we're all losers. So, pride and arrogance are our real enemies; not a political party.
Therefore, meeting the condition of II Chronicles 7:14 is the first requirement that all of us must "square with" if we want our nation (which includes us all) to end up on the right and "winning" side. So, we need to "Humble ourselves, pray, seek God's face and turn from our wicked ways" so God can forgive our sins, and heal our land" like He is so eager to do.
There is no place for us as individuals or party members to allow pride/arrogance to drag us down into the "losers dust." That breaks the heart of our caring Creator-God. (Who is no respecter of persons or parties.)
This, I believe, is the first message God wants us to get. (Yes, He is the God of the Bible, where we find the 10 Commandments, most of which, in some ways, and to some extent, are represented in all the religions in our world.)
The first place we find the 10 Commandments in our Bible is Exodus 20, and we find most of them repeated in Deuteronomy 5, in case some of you want to know.
To sum up what I believe our gracious and good God wants to challenge us with right now: 1) Reverence for live. 2) Love of truth. 3) Renouncing false gods, (like, "things" and lust of all kinds).
My young wife and I were in college, and went to the "family planning" group for needed, helpful into. But, that same organization now helps get as many as four to five million live human beings murdered before birth every year. The most expensive "birth control" program ever imagined. Besides being wholesale murder of innocent little human beings. How can a good organization drift that far from such a good and noble beginning? We need to, "watch and pray" and learn to so straight, Holy-Spirit-led thinking.
So, thanks - if you stayed with me this far.
