She was born Aug. 9, 1933, in Warsaw, to John and Mildred Kelly Wiltrout. She married Frank Canaday, who died in 2003.
She retired from New Castle Community School Corp. in 1985. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Beta Sigma Phi.
Surviving are a son, Blake (and spouse Kim) Dye, New Castle; a daughter, Staci Dudley, Mason, Ohio; a stepdaughter, Pam (and spouse John) Davidson, New Castle; a stepson, Joe Canaday, Rensselaer; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marian (and spouse Donald) Ring, Warsaw. She was also preceded in death by a son and a brother.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, New Castle, with Pastor Jerry Ingalls and the Rev. Jack Hannum officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition.
Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Sproles Family Funeral Home, New Castle, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
