MILFORD - Geraldine "Jerry" Schaaf, 83, of Leesburg, died at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 23, 2007, in her residence.

She was born May 18, 1924, in Leesburg, to Lester and Emmel Ellis Dye. In 1945, she married Allen Junior Bayne, who died in 1946. On Dec. 6, 1967, she married Peter Schaaf, who survives.

A lifetime area resident, she was former owner of Leesburg Liquor with her husband, Peter. She attended Leesburg High School and was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Warsaw American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and of the state champion softball team with Arnolt Corp.

Also surviving are a son, Donal "Danny" (and spouse Susan) Bayne, Florida; a granddaughter, Deanna S. Bayne, Florida; a great-grandson, Kristopher M. Bayne, Florida; a sister, Kathleen Shively, Leesburg; a stepdaughter, Tamra June (and spouse John) Sanchez, Fort Wayne; a stepson, Daniel (and spouse Laurie) Barker, Kokomo; and four step-grandchildren, Joel, Lee Allen and Cassandra Barker and Joseph Sanchez. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Duane "Dewey" Dye.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mishler-Eastlund Funeral Home, Milford. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.

Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
