SOUTH WHITLEY - Geraldine "Jeri" Robinette, 87, of Columbia City, died March 23, 2011, in Naples, Fla.

She was born June 24, 1923, in Wabash County, to George W. and Marie (Grimm) Garrison. On June 22, 1946, she married Joe A. Auker, who died Feb. 1, 1979. They made their home in South Whitley.

At the age of 6, her family moved to Huntington County. She graduated from Bippus High School. In 1942 she moved to Fort Wayne. She assisted her husband in the operations of J.A. Auker Veterinary Hospital for nearly 30 years. Since 1976, she has spent her winters in Naples, Fla. She was a member of South Whitley United Methodist Church and attended The Celebration Church, Naples.

Surviving are two sons, Ray R. (and spouse Jeannie) Auker, North Webster, and Marvin L. (and Marc Houser) Auker, Fort Wayne; a stepson, Roger L. (and spouse Barbara) Robinette, Greenwood, S.C.; a stepdaughter, Sharon K. (and spouse Ron) Miller, Bucyrus, Ohio; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son and two sisters.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.

Calling is from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
