She was born Feb. 23, 1921, in Wabash County, to Austin and Zelma Eby Blickenstaff. On Nov. 4, 1939, she married C. Eugene Howard, who survives.
She was secretary of the education department at Manchester College for 15 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of North Manchester United Methodist Church. She graduated from Chester High School in 1938.
Also surviving are two sons, Ted E. (and spouse Joselyn) Howard, Delphi, and Todd M. (and spouse Renee) Howard, Frederick, Colo.; two daughters, Connie J. (and spouse John) Bowman, Leo, and Cathie J. (and spouse Claude) Markstahler, North Manchester; a sister, Charlotte Carpenter, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister and two grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at North Manchester United Methodist Church, North Manchester, with the Rev. David L. Overmyer officiating. Burial will be private in Fairview Cemetery, Servia.
Calling is from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.
