ROANN – Gerald D. “Bud” Shank, 71, Claypool, died at 2:30 p.m. June 10, 2014, at Parkview Oaks in Columbia City.
He was born Nov. 15, 1942, in Wabash, to Garl and Virginia M. Spurgeon Shank.
He was a 1960 graduate of Roann High School. He worked for Rice Ford-Lincoln in Warsaw 40 years, retiring as the service manager. He enjoyed restoring classic cars, going to car shows, fishing, snowmobiling and construction work.
Surviving are a faithful loving companion, Carol Watkins, Columbia City; four children: Jama (and spouse Coy) Oldsen, Sarasota, Fla.; Debra (and spouse Chris) Moore, Akron; Mark (and spouse Paula) Shank, Pierceton, and Laura (and spouse Ryan) Riggle, Warsaw; four grandchildren: Emily Sapen, Rochester; Stephanie Gillum, Sarasota; Erin Fogel, Walton; and Elizabeth Fogel, Warsaw; great-granddaughter, Kallie Mullineaux, Sarasota; several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Swihart; and a brother, Merl Shank, both of Claypool. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles E. “Chuck” Shank.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Roann Chapel, 335 S. Chippewa Road, Roann. Burial will be in Roann Community Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 pm Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
