NORTH WEBSTER – George W. Sliger, 80, of North Webster, died at 6:18 p.m. Feb. 4, 2012, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.

He was born Sept. 27, 1931, in Wells County, to Frank E. and Lula A. Cole Sliger. On Sept. 2, 1952, in Warren, he married Norma J. Schwob, who survives.

He graduated from Warren High School in 1949 and International Barber and Beauty School, Indianapolis. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1952-54. He moved to North Webster from Warren in 1955 and retired in 2008 as owner and operator of George’s Barber Shop, North Webster, since 1957.  He was a member of North Webster Church of God and American Legion Post 253, North Webster.

Also surviving are two daughters, Lori (and spouse Randy) Hickman, North Webster, and Jill (and spouse Rob) Hasker, Platteville, Wis.; and four grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster, with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Burial will be private in North Webster Cemetery – Mock Addition.

Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
