She was born Dec. 27, 1928, in Fort Wayne, to Edward Joseph and Agnes Mae Luley Zurbuch. On Aug. 20, 1949, she married Leonard “Len” Charles Wendt, who passed away April 17, 2011.
She graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1946. A resident of Warsaw since 1962, she was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, where she was active with the Rosary and Alter Society. She was a homemaker, and worked at Bowen Center, Home Health Care and Dalton Foundries, all in Warsaw.
She will be lovingly remembered by four sons: Clifford L. (and spouse Nancy) Wendt, Encinitas, Calif.; Paul S. (and spouse Clair) Wendt, Phoenix, Ariz.; Thomas R. (and spouse Gabriela) Wendt, Cypress, Calif.; and Daniel M. (and spouse Jill) Wendt, Maricopa, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers: Richard (and spouse Terri) Zurbuch and James B. (and spouse Sandy) Zurbuch, all of Fort Wayne; Donald (and spouse Sally) Zurbuch, New Haven; and Edward (and spouse Marge) Zurbuch, Lewiston, N.Y.; and a sister, Diane Zurbuch, Richmond. She also was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Derek K. Wendt.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 125 N. Harrison St., Warsaw, officiated by Father Phil DeVolder of the church. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne, with Father Tom Shoemaker officiating.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m.
