Editor, Times-Union:
A few years back when gas prices went up, retail stores, grocery stores and garbage pickup raised their prices saying it cost more to ship the product or haul away. OK.
Now that gas prices are falling and it doesn’t cost as much to ship the product to their stores, prices should reflect that – otherwise if you continue to keep the high prices then when gas goes back up next spring or summer you will raise prices ever more. It should be a mirror image.
I know some retailers would reply that their prices are down, but it’s close to Christmas and they always lower prices a bit around this time of year (sales), but prices should be lowered on all products.
Many stores have a customer satisfaction guaranteed. Well, guarantee the satisfaction by lowering your prices. I’m sure many customers will be asking the same thing soon.
