Garber 60th Anniversary

Curtis and Peg Garber, Warsaw, will mark their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 14. Curtis "Gabby" Garber and Vanetta "Peg" Rydquist were married Sept. 14, 1947, at First Christian Church of Warsaw with the Rev. Avery Miley officiating.

Since their marriage, they have been members of the First United Methodist Church of Warsaw.

He retired in 1987 from the Times-Union after 41 years of service, first as sports editor and later as editor. She is retired from Lake City Bank, where she was a teller for 31 years.

The couple have four children: Lana Garber, Wabash; Janet Bilyew, Fort Wayne; Jon Garber, Beaver Dam Lake; and Mrs. Mike (Sue) Sands, Roanoke. They have two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The couple will celebrate the anniversary with a dinner hosted by their children Friday.
