Gain Knowledge and Vote

We as a country are in what is called in the flying world, “a flat spin” aka graveyard spin. We have no wind going over or under our wings. We are plummeting to the ground with little hope of recovery. Why would I say something like this?
Our government is way too big, she’s into everything she should not be and doing nothing she should. The two-party system is broken, it’s nothing but them or us. No more “We the people.” I’m glad I believe in God because no matter what I know people that believe in Him will be OK, but this institution is in a real mess. The greed and selfishness of men has brought upon our heads too much control of our lives and far too much debt.
People vote with absolutely no knowledge of whom they are voting for or what they have done or they propose to do if elected. We should make people study the background of their reps and take a test of current knowledge before they cast a vote.
How? Send them a booklet with all the facts of who is running, what they have done, and what effect they have had on this world. It should be written by an independent panel and sent to the people two weeks before they vote. They must pass a test of knowledge with at least a 70 percent grade, if not their vote will be downgraded to half a vote and used only in a very close race.
Now, I know some of you think that’s crazy and you may be right, but how can we have the best leaders based on “Oh! I like him ‘just because.’” We have so many inept people running this country starting at the top continuing to the very bottom. The current media has added to the problem with misleading adds, lies, lies, lies! Anybody can say anything they want as long as somebody pays for it.
People also get elected and do none of the things they promise. If they don’t do 70 percent of the things they had promised they should be put in a time out, no pay and they must come back to us with a new plan of attack and their constituents need to vote if they will be allowed to come back. If not they need to elect an interim replacement until the next election.
Two-year term limits on all offices and no lobbying after they leave for four years. If you can’t get things done in two terms step aside and go home. We are going to have to grab the bull by the horns people and it starts with us electing reps that think like this. Accountability is where we have to begin and action is the next step.
Let’s all make a promise to read more on current events and don’t stick to one-sided views. Read, read, read and listen to your reps. Spend two hours a week watching C-SPAN. You will be amazed and it is online.
I am asking you to get involved before there is nothing left of what you knew of freedom. The Bible talks about how debt is a yoke around our neck and we have a super-sized yoke around old glory right now. If we all gain the knowledge that is out there it can and will, set us free!
