He was born Oct. 20, 1939, in Georges Creek, Ky., to Elias and Diana Scarberry George. On April 4, 1981, in Clintwood, Va., he married Novella Owens, who survives.
He served and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army from 1961-64. He was a Warsaw resident since 1965, and retired from Uniroyal in 2001, after 30 years. He was a member of Living Hope Ministries, Warsaw.
Also surviving are three daughters: Diana (and spouse Marty) Shepherd, Evans, Ga.; Anita Neeley, Atwood; and Tracy Landis, Claypool; a son, Mike Ousley, Mentone; 11 grandchildren; and two sisters, Dottie (and spouse Jr.) Meade, White House, Ky., and Julie Young, Credo, W.Va. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Living Hope Ministries, 595 E. CR 350N, Warsaw, with the Rev. Wayne Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, Silver Lake, with military rites by members of the American Legion Post 49 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1126, both in Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.
