Funeral Thieves

I hope this letter can be a wake-up call so some people understand what they've done.

I just lost my husband. While I was at the cemetery, I stayed until his casket was lowered, and before I could get home, I was robbed!

I had arranged for the vases and plants to be delivered to our home to be there when I got there, so I could take some time to see who had sent what.

Someone left the cemetery in a hurry and hit the funeral home and took what they wanted, or as said, "supposed to." Those were sent to my husband and it was his funeral, not theirs. Unless their name was on the back of the card, it was still my husband's. I can't even send thank-you cards because I don't remember all the names on them.

I had planned to take one to our family doctor, the heart center, and cancer center as Charlie wanted me to, to say thanks again for all they had done for us to help him feel better. And a remembrance tree is still missing!

Some people need to understand and ask first. Then I wouldn't have cared. I hope they needed to do that. And for what their greed has cost me, I hope they enjoy them.

I don't want anything back but my tree. I only pray people understand why I can't thank them myself.

Just because a lot of them were from their place of work, friends and neighbors, didn't mean they didn't know Charlie also. I hope they are happy with what they have done. I still have him. They can have the flowers.

Also, please don't ask the widow the day of the funeral for his things. It's rude and disrespectful.
