Fresh Air

After months of reading letters from Betances, Collins and Metzger, Wesley Smith's letter from Friday, June 25 was like a breath of fresh air.
It was factual, verifiable, succint and timely. All I would add to his quite eloquent letter is: Secretary of Defense Gates and Joint Chief of Staff Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen should have said, "Mr. President, If General McChrystal goes, we go." Gates wanted McChrystal to remain, and should have insisted. Admiral Mullen has become a political hack but should have stood with Gates. No way Obama could have gotten confirmation on two important members of his national security team without considerable "about, face" along the line. We have not heard, nor seen, the last of General McChrystal, U.S. Army (Ret.)
May God continue to bless and protect our great republic.
