He was born Feb. 16, 1919, in Rochester, to Herman and Mabel Reed Neher. On Aug. 19, 1942, in Redondo Beach, Calif., he married Amy Berneice Perry, who died March 7, 2005.
A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, he served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He then worked for Gatke Inc. for 37 years, retiring in 1974. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 49, Warsaw.
Surviving are a daughter, Anne Marie (and spouse Don) Grimm, Warsaw; a son, Stephen Neher, Warsaw; a grandson; four sisters: Cordela (and spouse Paul) Taylor, Sun City, Ariz.; Audry (and spouse Rich) Stephan, Bippus, Fla.; Maxine Venner, Huntington; and Cozetta (and spouse Skeet) Haines, Crawfordsville.
No services or calling planned. Burial will be at a later date.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
