Francis M. 'Frank' Parker III

He was born Dec. 6, 1930, in South Bend, to Francis M. II and Helen R. Hossler Parker. On March 17, 1968, in Fort Wayne, he married Bertha L. Method, who survives.
He grew up in Gary until his family moved to Sidney, graduating from Sidney High School in 1948. He attended Bryan College, Dayton, Tenn., and Grace College, Winona Lake. He lived most of his life in the Kosciusko County area, except for three years that he lived near Columbus, Ohio. He retired as a controller in 1991 from Dana Corp., Columbia City, after 28 years of employment. He was a member of Warsaw Community Church, and a life member of American Legion Post 253, North Webster. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Also surviving are two sons, Scott (and spouse Kathy) Parker, Leesburg, and Frank (and spouse Barbara) Parker IV, Warsaw; a stepdaughter, Sandy Toney, Nappanee; two stepsons, Russell (and spouse Sue) McDonald, Nappanee, and Mike (and spouse Barbara) McDonald, Strawtown; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue (and spouse Fred) Kinch, Claypool, and Merry Carol (and spouse Bob) Riemersma, South Whitley; and five brothers: Alton and Larry Parker, both of South Whitley; John Parker, Marion; Opie Parker, Arizona; and Martin (and spouse Thelma) Parker, Warsaw. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, a sister and three brothers.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse. Burial will be at Baintertown Cemetery, near New Paris, with military graveside rites performed by American Legion Post 253.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
