Fox Party

For the purpose of this letter I have plagiarized the phrase "Fox Party" from Jonathan Alter of Newsweek.
Have the Fox Party been wearing their hats too tight? They seem to be suffering from lack of oxygen to the brain.
Ms. Osha, please give me one example where President Obama or a member of his administration has referred to the Fox Party as unAmerican or Nazis. However, the Fox Party has used the Nazi reference many times in referring to public option proponents. Swastikas often appear at Fox Party rallies accompanied with pamphlets titled "Act Now To Stop Obama's Nazi Health Plan" and Gasbag Rush has declared health care reform as "Hitler-Life Policy." Posters showing President Obama with a Hitler mustache are proudly displayed. Soon I'm sure one of those ingenuous wordsmiths that think they're quite clever referring to the president as Barrack Hussein Obama will outdo themselves and jump to Adolph Hussein Osama. Aren't they just a hoot?
Democracy is not well served when the screaming Fox automatons drown out the voices of the opposition. The First Amendment applies to everyone.
Has everyone forgotten that those of us who opposed the debacle of the Iraqi invasion were called "unpatriotic," "traitors" and "treasonous?" Protesters were kept in designated areas out of sight of President Bush and news coverage. His town hall meetings were by invitation only to those that supported his programs. Remember his move to privatize Social Security and tie it to the stock market? What a stellar idea that would have been.
The Republican party opposed to health care reform today also opposed Social Security and Medicare. They were wrong then and they are wrong now. Without the public option, health care reform is pointless. The status quo will be maintained as health insurance companies continue to ration care, health care costs will continue to skyrocket and people will continue to die needlessly in the name of profits.
I would like to petition the Times-Union to rethink their decision to continue the column of Ann Coulter. The Aug. 21 column was revolting, even for Ms. Coulter. To make light of a man's death because his insurance company had discontinued his chemotherapy was especially vile. This is an egregious insult to those of us who have lost a loved on to this hideous disease or have battled it ourselves and should have no place in a family newspaper.
