WAWASEE - Four juveniles have been arrested in connection with a string of more than 20 burglaries and thefts around Wawasee Lake earlier this month.

Following a rash of burglaries and vehicle break-ins on the north and east sides of Wawasee Lake earlier his week, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department was inundated with tips and information - including footage from a trail camera - from local residents. That assistance led to the arrests of four juveniles this week, the sheriff’s department announced today.

The names of the juveniles have not been released. Detectives did say the youths are enrolled in the Wawasee Schools system.

The juveniles admitted to 20 thefts and burglaries, committed earlier this month as school let out, the sheriff’s department said. Detectives said 11 of those have been reported incidents, and police have lined up additional interviews with residents to potentially grow the scope of the spree.

The case has been handed over to the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office. The juveniles were released to their parents.[[In-content Ad]]
