By Staff Report-

The Triton High School Athletic Department has announced that former Triton School Corporation Superintendent Carl Hilling will be present for Friday’s football game.
Hilling, who served the Triton School Corporation from 2008-2012, will flip the coin in the honorary coin toss prior to the Trojans home opener against Culver.
“We are excited to have Carl in attendance at the game Friday night,” Triton Athletic Director Mason McIntyre said. “Carl’s efforts were huge in the construction of our new facilities (Ernie Watkins Pavilion and the new football press box). Without his leadership and his experience, completing these projects would not have been possible. I can’t thank Carl enough for all he has done for not only Triton athletics, but for the entire Triton School Corporation.”
The coin used during the coin toss will be a commemorative coin that Hilling had made during his time at Triton.
One side of the coin has a Trojan head with the three towns that make up the Triton School Corporation — Bourbon, Etna Green and Tippecanoe. The opposite side includes Hilling’s motto, “Expect the Best,” with his five core expectations — Attendance, Attitude, Academics, Instructions and Do Your Best.
Prior to serving as Triton’s superintendent, Hilling served in the superintendent role in several schools in Michigan and Ohio.
He retired from the Triton School Corporation this past June.
He currently resides in Gaylord, Michigan with his wife, Cynthia. [[In-content Ad]]
