Former DePuy President Dies

Williams, 79, was the former president of DePuy.
Williams served as the orthopedic giant’s president from 1969 until his retirement in 1985.
During his time at DePuy, Williams helped guide the company in its growth from 10 to 300 employees.
His final year as president, the company’s revenue in 1985 topped $95 million.
He also served as a consultant with the company after his retirement and purchased the controlling interest in an Indianapolis-based company.
He graduated from Anderson High School in 1950.
Williams, who owned a home on Winona Lake in Warsaw, was a 1954 Indiana University graduate.
In 1986, he was a volunteer chairman for I.U.’s Foundation
He was a supporter of the university as well as its athletic department.
Williams was also a past president of Tippecanoe Lake Country Club.
“Bob Williams knew a lot of people. He knew a lot of big people and a lot of little people. He was nice to everyone,” said Williams’ friend, Clay Kreicker, president of TSA Communications.
“In Warsaw and the area, he was well-known and loved, he and Joe Prout, founded the Country Club 4th of July parade and supported it all these years,” said Kreicker.
“I never saw him mad at anybody and he was always nice to everybody he came across,” said Kreicker. [[In-content Ad]]Williams is survived by his wife, Nancy, and three children, Bradford, Carlye and Ross.
