HUNTINGTON - Floyd L. Brown, of Warren, died at 4:45 p.m. May 24, 2009, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

He was born Aug. 18, 1919, in Huntington, to Sherman N. and Lelah Camblin Brown. On Feb. 22, 1948, he married Waneta M. Kennedy, who survives.

He graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1937. He then became a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a lifetime farmer in Jefferson Township and retired from Dana after 29 years of service.

Also surviving are two sons, Steven (and spouse Jayne) Brown, Cortland, Ohio, and Terrill (and spouse Teresa) Brown, Pierceton; a daughter, Karen Brown, Roanoke; four brothers, Dale and Von Brown, both of Warren, and Don and Keith Brown, both of Huntington; and a sister, Betty Brown, Muncie. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Pamela Keister; a brother, Ernest Brown; and two sisters, Mildred Wall and Martha Eppard.

Services will be at noon Thursday at Bailey-Love Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Tony Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.

Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home.
