CHURUBUSCO - Flora E. Beachler, 93, formerly of the North Manchester area, died at 11:05 a.m. July 1, 2007, in Miller's Merry Manor, Garrett, where she resided.

She was born Feb. 4, 1914, in Wabash County, to Frederick and Cassie Metzger Renicker. She married Ernie Beachler, who died in 1944.

Moving to Fort Wayne, she worked in the maintenance department of Fort Wayne Community Schools for 15 years, retiring in 1979. In 1998, she moved to Churubusco.

Surviving are a son, Ken Beachler, Churubusco; three sisters: Mrs. Bill (Katherine) O'Hara, Claypool; Ruby Wolsley, Huffman, Texas; and Mrs. Bob (Jean) Shumaker, Fort Wayne; two grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery, North Manchester, with Pastor Tim Grable officiating.

No calling is planned.
