Fisher Faces More Charges In Murder Of Milford Woman
July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.
A motion to add two new charges was filed this week against Jason Fisher of Millersburg, who is accused of murdering a Milford woman in January.
Fisher, 23, is charged with murder in the Jan. 15 shooting death of Kathy Vroman, 48. He now also faces charges of burglary, a Class C felony, and theft, a Class D felony, in connection with the December 2000 break-in to Rice Ford in Warsaw. More than $100,000 worth of vehicles was stolen from the lot. Three other men, including Vroman's husband, William Vroman, were already sentenced for their roles in the Rice Ford burglary.
The trial in the murder case was supposed to take place this week but was continued because of new developments in the case, according to Kosciusko County Prosecutor Charles Waggoner. A new trial date has not been set.
Authorities believe Kathy Vroman's death was connected to an auto theft ring based at Fisher's business, Country Car Co. in Milford. Vroman worked at the used car dealership and William Vroman, Lawrence Grant and George Aldrich - the men who pleaded guilty to their involvement in the Rice Ford incident - all had connections to the business, as did Fisher's father, Ralph Fredderick Fisher.
The elder Fisher is out on bond awaiting trial on a charge of obstruction of justice after allegedly advising his son about how to dispose of Vroman's body. Her remains were found in a wooded, snow-covered area near Three Rivers, Mich., several days after she was reportedly murdered.
The younger Fisher remains incarcerated at Kosciusko County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
All of the cases are filed in Kosciusko Circuit Court. [[In-content Ad]]
