Bike rides, free food and live music all will be a part of First Friday in downtown Warsaw.

The Aug. 6 event from 5 to 9 p.m. will be the third First Friday in Warsaw. The theme of the August First Friday is "Warsaw Gives Back".

Lake Street from Center to Market Street, and Buffalo Street from Center Street to Market Street will be closed that night to accommodate the First Friday event.

Keith Reinholt, event organizer, came up with the idea for First Friday and has been working with a committee to plan First Friday events.

United Way agencies will have booths set up at the event showcasing the services they offer.

1st Source Bank is sponsoring a family bike ride. Registration for the bike ride will begin at 5 p.m. Aug. 6 in front of the bank at 120 S. Lake St.

The first bike ride will begin at 6 p.m. and start at the bank. It will go out to the Greenway trail and City-County Athletic Complex and back to the bank.

A second bike ride will be for younger children and will leave from the bank at 6:15 p.m. for Warsaw Parks Department's Family Carnival in Central Park.

Trailhouse and Kosciusko County Vilo Cycling Club will provide bicycle inspections, and there will be a free bike light given to the first 100 children who register for the youth bike ride.

Merchants will offer sidewalk sales, and there will be free carnival food for attendees.

A book sale will be at Warsaw Community Public Library from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

A Shriner parade will be at 8:30 p.m. on Center Street.

Giverny dance team and Warsaw cheerleaders will perform that evening.
