The theme for May’s First Friday is “Downtown At The Hop,” and is May 4 from 5 to 9 p.m.

The First Friday committee has decided to put all of the food vendors in one central location, making it easier for them to be found by  visitors.

They will be located between the courthouse and the new city building on West Center Street.

People will find Rex’s, Chops fire pit, Lanny’s Barbecue, Fire in the Hole Pizza, The Pizza Shoppe, K&K kettlecorn, 4-H tacos and more.

Downtown businesses will serve inside and out in front of their businesses.

Rex’s will be serving ’50s fare (done Rex’s way), B’Macs is having its First Friday all-you-can-eat fish and ’50s sliders, and Mad Anthony’s employees will be dressed in their poodle skirts and bobby socks to serve people their favorite ’50s food.

There will be a wine and cheese tasting event at the St. Regis Club for people to enjoy.

BMac’s also will have a hard boiled egg eating contest. Sign up inside by Wednesday. The contest will be outside at 6:45 p.m.

Habitat for Humanity will display its creative painted rain barrels all around the square. Vote for your favorite barrel inside the downtown stores.

There will be a ’50s icon look-alike contest (Elvis, Fonzi and Marilyn Monroe.) Registration is at the information booth.

It will be a penny a vote, and the contestants will carry a voting container with them. The vote tally will be announced and all contestants displayed at 8 p.m. on center stage.

Kelaineys will serve ’50s drinks and more, including root beer floats, Elvis Paninis, black cow malts, and tin roof sundaes.

Greek's is serving $2 per slice of pizza and $9.95 for carry-out only.

The Emporium is having an old-fashioned candy buffet.

For musical enjoyment, the Warsaw Community High School Pep Band will be on the courthouse steps from 5:30-6 p.m.

From 6 to 9 p.m., the Sock Monkeys, a local band, will be at center stage.

There will be a meet-the-candidates area on the courthouse lawn.

The list of crafter and informational tables is growing.

Animal Welfare League and One Dog At A Time will be back again this year with animals for adoption. Magical Meadows also will be back with its petting animals.

There will be information tables for the following areas: Relay for Life, BMX, Court Appointed Special Advocates, MasterWorks, 911, March of Dimes, Treasures For Troops, Amend Investigations, International Student Exchange, Colliers Heating and Air, Prudential 1, Warsaw Community Public Library, Deb Collier’s School of Dance, North Webster Church of God, corn hole and  churchy jewelry, The Cake Lady, Amy Netty Books, Beaman Home unveiling and more.[[In-content Ad]]
