The First Friday theme is called "Fire and Ice" and is Feb. 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. in downtown Warsaw.
There are 40 businesses and individuals who are sponsoring ice sculptures. There is room for other sponsors, according to Keith Reinholt, First Friday organizer.
Michiana Ice Carvers Association will carve the ice sculptures.
The cost is $135 for a 300-pound block, and $195 for a 600-pound block.
People who sponsor the ice sculptures can have their business logo, choose their own design or have the carver choose a design.
The price includes the cost of the ice block and labor for the artists to do the carvings.
Highlighting the night will be a 1,200-pound ice sculpture in memory of Kosciusko County Sheriff's Dept. Sgt. Jeff Shaw located at the courthouse square.
Shaw died in a vehicle accident Nov. 12, 2009.
There also will be ice sculptures with flames coming out of the tops.
During First Friday, there will be discounts by downtown merchants.
Brown Bag Deli will offer a beef and chicken stew special; BMac's will have a fish special; and Mad Anthony's will have a barbecue and drink special.
Dennie House will have coffee and gourmet food samples; Rex's Rendezvous will have fire kissed steaks; and at Buffalo Street Emporium children can decorate Valentines and free cider will be offered.
Free coffee and hot chocolate will be served outside downtown businesses by First Christian Church members and Fellowship Missions.
Live music will be performed by Mallory Moore inside Chocolate Cafe. David Haney will perform music at Courthouse Coffee, and Fair Fjola will perform an acoustic set at Reinholt's Furniture.
On Feb. 5, there will be a mystery scavenger hunt starting at the Chocolate Café at noon. People are invited to come downtown to see ice carvings and enjoy lunch specials.
People who want to sponsor an ice carving or want to volunteer for First Friday events can call Reinholt at 574-267-5940.
February is the eighth First Friday, and a Mardi Gras themed First Friday is being planned for March.[[In-content Ad]]
