Fire Damages Home On Packerton Road

A residence located at 1961 East 300 South, Warsaw, was heavily damaged by fire Friday.
The home was occupied by Kris Tucker and her three children Kirk, Damion and Amber. They were not injured in the fire but a family dog was lost. The family escaped with only the clothes on their backs.
Damage was estimated at $100,000. Warsaw Fire Inspector Mike Wilson said the home was insured.
Wilson said the fire started in a clothes dryer and spread from the interior of the wall to the attic space. The call to the fire department was placed at 3:40 p.m. Firemen were on the scene until 7 p.m.
Full assist was provided by the Winona Lake Fire Department and a call for a tanker assist was made to Claypool and Pierceton fire departments.
Firefighters were hampered by wind and cold.
The family was told to contact Combined Community Services and the American Red Cross for assistance. [[In-content Ad]]
