The Kosciusko Association of Female Executives invites the public to sample "A Taste of KAFE" Wednesday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Caffe Villaggio in the Village at Winona.

Kerrie Walls, KAFE president, said Wednesday's event will include light refreshments, informational packets, door prizes and the opportunity to join the group for the remainder of 2004 for a small membership fee.

KAFE is dedicated to the advancement of women - both professionally and personally - by providing an environment that promotes support, networking opportunities, continuing education and volunteerism through community service.

"Anyone looking for a good way to network with other women should consider attending," Walls said. "That's what we're striving for - helping women with networking ideas."

Plans for the remainder of 2004 and for next year include a half-day women's symposium dedicated to women's issues in the workplace, women's health and balancing work and home lives.

KAFE also is planning a business suit and business clothing drive where women will be asked to donate good used clothing for less-advantaged women who have difficulty affording a workplace wardrobe, Walls said.

The group also will continue fund-raising activities to support its sponsorship and scholarship program for women trying to advance themselves through continuing education.

KAFE meets the third Tuesday of each month at noon at the Great Wall Restaurant.

Walls said the group offers a speaker at each meeting who addresses issues that are of importance to women. A couple meetings per year are devoted to lighter subjects, such as fashion and decorating, etc. The group hopes to attract some new members to participate in this networking opportunity.

Questions regarding KAFE may be directed to Walls, 574-269-4100; Mary Gerard, vice president, 574-834-2818; or Linda Owens, membership chairwoman, 574-371-9293. [[In-content Ad]]
