The meeting will be Jan. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Kosciusko Community Foundation Building, 102 E. Market St., at the corner of Buffalo and Market streets.
Anyone interested in wanting to be involved with the shelter is invited to attend.
Volunteers are needed to assist with shelter operations.
The jobs vary from overnight assistance, cooking food, providing transportation and linen volunteers to take bedding and towels to and from Wildman Uniform to be cleaned.
More information on opportunities for serving will be available during the meeting. People will have the opportunity to sign up during the meeting for volunteer opportunities.
Monetary donations also are welcome with checks being sent to: Fellowship Missions, P.O. Box 382, Winona Lake, IN 46590.
Fellowship Missions signed a sixth-month agreement with Warsaw Dec. 15 to rent a home at 337 N. Buffalo St. until May. The temporary homeless shelter is for housing homeless women and children.
The group also offers a transitional home for homeless men on South Buffalo Street that was started in April.
Eric Lane, Fellowship Missions executive director, said the shelter for women and children has been averaging four women per night, and two children each night.
The men's shelter is averaging 10 men per night, and has housed 13 men as the highest number at one time.
Operation hours for both shelters are 6 p.m. to 9 a.m.
"We receive calls daily for people to stay at the shelters, and I received a call two days ago that may possibly lead to four more women and two more children needing to be housed at the shelter," Lane said.
Lane said there have been volunteers that have already stepped up to assist with the shelter.
"We want to empower our community to help out, and it's about connecting everyone together," Lane said.
Lane said Fellowship Missions is still considering the Tri-Namic Printing building, 658 S. Buffalo St., for a permanent shelter, but needs the funding to purchase the building.[[In-content Ad]]
