BOURBON – Fawn Heisler, 97, of Nappanee, and formerly of Etna Green, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Jan. 18, 2013, in LuAnn Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 17, 1915, in Bourbon, to Rollie and Lydia Eaglebarger Bessinger. On Aug. 25, 1935, she married John E. Heisler, who died Jan. 16, 1988. She was a lifelong resident of the Etna Green and Bourbon area and graduated from Bourbon High School in 1934. She was a homemaker, cleaned houses and worked as a cook at Etna Green School, where she retired. She was a faithful member of Etna Green United Methodist Church and a member of the Thimble Club. A wonderful cook, she was known for her angel food cakes and homemade noodles. She also enjoyed cooking for the Lions Club, quilting and playing euchre. She was blessed with a daughter, Josephine (and spouse Richard) Reprogle, Kokomo; four grandchildren: Michael (and spouse Kristi) Reprogle, Greentown; Matthew (and spouse Karen) Reprogle, Noblesville; Denise (and spouse David) Rosenthal, Cicero; and Angela (and spouse Brian) Shockney, Lafayette; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Hall, Bourbon; and a brother, Max (and spouse Jessie) Bessinger, Three Rivers, Mich. She was preceded in death by three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Genevieve Heckaman and Lavon Stackhouse; and two brothers, Roy and Wayne Bessinger. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Etna Green United Methodist Church, 131 W. Broadway St., Etna Green, with Pastor Joe Lampton officiating. Burial will be in Etna Green Cemetery. Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main St. Bourbon. ***** Memorials may be made to Etna Green United Methodist Church.
