DENVER - If it's possible to upstage David Barrett, the third leading rusher in the state, Steve Fawcett did it Friday.

Fawcett was all over the field on defense, racking up an amazing 25 tackles as Manchester won a battle of undefeated conference teams with a 35-14 win over North Miami.

Fawcett's defensive effort downplayed Barrett's third consecutive 200-yard rushing game. His 259 yards were actually his worst single game total in three weeks.

North Miami held an 8-6 lead in the second quarter, but Barrett and Groombridge had back-to-back touchdowns as the Squires went ahead 21-8 at the half.

Barrett scored his third touchdown of the game in the third quarter to nail down the win for Manchester.

Barrett, who also happens to have the third-most carries in the state along with being the third leading rusher in the state, had 33 more carries Friday to give him 161 on the year to go along with 1,159 yards rushing.

Manchester (4-1, 3-0) will host defending conference champion Rochester Friday in a key TRC game.
