New Year's Eve is one of the biggest drinking days of the year, and a local taxi company is again offering free rides to assure people get home safely.

Fast Cab, Warsaw, will offer free taxi services within Warsaw Monday from 6 p.m. to 4 a.m. Tuesday.

The company has been offering taxi services for the past 18 years, according to David Cesaretti, Fast Cab president.

"We want everyone to have a great New Year's Eve and be a responsible drinker and call for a taxi cab," Cesaretti said.

There will be a fleet of taxis driven by Fast Cab's dispatchers and taxi cab drivers.

He said the free rides would not be possible without 14 local sponsors who provided monetary donations toward the rides.

Sponsors include Five Star Distributing, Nelson Beverage, Schrader's Automotive, Rex's Rendezvous, Time Out Inn, Susie's Sandbar, Eagles Area 1339, Service Liquors, Liquid Assets, Moose Family Center, American Legion Post 49, Holiday Bowl, Veterans of Foreign Wars and NAPA Auto Parts. He said people who wish to travel out of town will be charged accordingly.

Cesaretti said passengers are typically picked up within 15 minutes, weather dependent. People who are planning on attending a special event on New Year's Eve can call ahead to reserve taxi services.

People who need rides can call Fast Cab at 574-269-2222.[[In-content Ad]]
