Farmers Market Plans Customer Appreciation Day

Kosciusko County Famer's Market will thank its patrons with Customer Appreciation Day Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Festivities will include drawings, prizes, vendors' specials, free food and a bake sale.[[In-content Ad]]"It's basically to give back to the community that has kept us in business for all these years," said farmer's market organizer Sandy Scott. "We wouldn't be anything without the people coming."

The market, a part of the Kosciusko County community for almost 35 years, is open Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. Scott said the market has thrived this year with a growing number of vendors selling fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, beef, pork, eggs, baked goods, maple syrup and plants. All produce sold at the market is grown or raised in Kosciusko County.

Scott said current big sellers at the market include tomatoes, sweet corn, peaches and apples. Scott also said some fall favorites, including pumpkins, are beginning to show up at the farmers market.

The closing date for this year's market is Oct. 29.
