Farmers Market

Editor, Times-Union:
The headline “Farmers Market Kicks Off In Downtown Warsaw Saturday” seems to indicate that there is only one farmers market and that it has moved from the fairgrounds, where it has been for many years. In fact, there seem to be two farmers markets, with different vendors, different locations and different philosophies, and the Times-Union has done a disservice to both vendors and shoppers by not making that fact clear.

Surely, one of your reporters could have researched the facts and presented them in a fair, unbiased story that would have helped everyone.

I doubt whether a town the size of Warsaw can adequately support two farmers markets, and any loss of business will hurt both the farmers and those of us who look forward each year to eating locally grown produce and supporting our neighbors. Please, at least, give us enough facts to be able to decide which market to support.
