Fannie Minnix, 78, of Warsaw, died at 6:52 a.m. Feb. 24, 2011, in Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.

He was born April 8, 1932, in Floyd County, Ky., to Clay and Annie Whitaker Shepherd. On Jan. 3, 1949, in Claypool, she married Flim Minnix, who died Jan. 31, 1999.

Moving to the Warsaw area in 1937, she was a tool crib attendant for Zimmer Inc. for more than 20 years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church of Kosciusko County and Gospel Hill Pentecostal Church, Silver Lake.

Surviving are a son, Paul Edward Minnix, Warsaw; four sisters: Edna Bailey and Ruth Ann Sharp, both of North Manchester; Rose Elliott, South Whitley; and Ethel Marie Shepherd, California; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, two sons, five brothers and two sisters.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Myron Drent officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
