Extension Homemaker Members Make 'Comfort Pillows' For Kids
July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.
Extension Homemaker Club members cut, sewed and stuffed "comfort pillows" Thursday in the Home and Family Arts Building on the fairgrounds for children under stress.
The pillows, about 300, will be distributed to county fire departments and emergency medical services.
"They're for kids who need them, if they've been in a fire, accident or are injured," said Diane Wagley, chairwoman of the sewing day project.
She got the idea of mass producing the pillows from an Elkhart Extension project and decided the Kosciusko clubs might be interested in a similar project, too.
Pillow panels came from Lowrey's Sewing Center, and Wal-Mart donated poly stuffing. The county clubs donated all the fabric backing and some poly stuffing, too.
More than 30 women participated in the project. [[In-content Ad]]
