In dealing with the war on terror, when is this president going to stop taking a knife to a gun fight? I think the first step is for him to begin to understand that our enemies are radicals, they are dangerous, and they want Americans dead. They are more than simply a bunch of irritating malcontents running amuck.
When you decide that you can't use the word "terrorists" any longer, you have a naivete that doesn't match your job description.
His decision to feed the Guantanamo captives into our civilian judicial system with all the rights of citizens is beyond ridiculous. They weren't arrested robbing a liquor store. This approach may result in military secrets being made public and terrorists potentially being set free. Certainly trials will be drawn out through the use of defense attorney tricks employed to "protect the rights" of these esteemed terrorists. This country apparently owes them a podium so that they may spew their hatred of America. We can worry about the safety and security of this nation at a later date.
These terrorists are tough, sophisticated, well funded, patient, and have an unwavering will to do us harm. And we bring to the table misplaced compassion, ridiculous political correction and overwhelming naivete. That is a dangerous mismatch for victory.
