Everett L. Shoemaker, 93, of North Manchester, and formerly of Winona Lake, died at 4:30 a.m. Dec. 14, 2010, in Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.
He was born June 20, 1917, in Pierceton, to Roy and Ruth Hivley Shoemaker. On July 27, 1940, in Winona Lake, he married Helen Wine, who survives in Winona Lake.
A lifetime Warsaw area resident, he worked at Zimmer Inc. for 47 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Warsaw Masonic Lodge 73; the Amateur Radio Club W9 WAR, Warsaw; and First Presbyterian Church of Winona Lake, where he was an elder.
Also surviving are two daughters, Janet Hartman, Pierceton, and Patricia (and spouse Allan) Koher, Huntington; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Good Shepherd Church, formerly known as First Presbyterian Church, Winona Lake, with Pastors William Whitaker and Rob Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. There will be a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
